DPRK Travel - Anniversary of the Foundation of the Workers' Party of
Korea. The application deadline for this tour is September 13 2013.
If interested in extending your tour please send us an e-mail stating
how long you would like to extend for and if there are any specific
places you would like to visit.
Please bear in mind that the Mass Games usually officially take place
from August to September 9 (National Day). They tend to be extended
until mid-October although this is only confirmed once they are being
held. We will keep you posted once the extension has been confirmed but it should not be taken for granted that they will be held in October.

Day 1 - October 8 (Tuesday)
- Depart from Beijing at 13.00 flight JS 152 Terminal 2, Beijing Capital Airport
- Arrive in Pyongyang at 16.00 (Pyongyang time)

- Arch of Triumph
- Mansudae Grand Monuments - giant bronze statues of the Leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il
- Brief walk around the area
- Chollima Statue
- Hotel check-in
- Welcome Dinner: KITC Restaurant, Pyongyang
Day 2 - October 9 (Wednesday)

AM
- Breakfast: Yanggakdo Hotel
- Drive to Mt. Myohyang
- International Friendship Exhibition - exposing thousands of presents given to the leaders Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk
(anti-Japanese guerilla fighter wife and mother of President Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il respectively)
- Pohyon Bhuddist Temple
PM
- Lunch: Chongchon Hotel
- Drive back to Pyongyang
- Juche Tower - chance to go up 150 meters and have a panoramic view of Pyongyang
- Ride on Pyongyang Metro (the deepest in the world) with locals - extended ride
- Dinner: Rungrado Restaurant, Pyongyang
Overnight: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Day 2 - October 10 (Thursday) - National Holiday:
Anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea
AM
- Breakfast: Yanggakdo Hotel
- Kumsusan Memorial Palace Mausoleum of the Leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The most sacred place in the DPRK and a highlight of your DPRK travel experience
- Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery
PM
- Lunch: City restaurant, Pyongyang
- Mangyongdae - Kim Il Sung's Birthplace
- Moran Park - this is where locals gather on National Holidays. Don't be surprised if asked to join in any dancing and celebrations!
- Monuments to the Workers' Party Foundation - celebration of the anniversary of the Party's Foundation
- Expected Mass Dances - chance join hundreds of Koreans dancing to celebrate the National Holiday
- Ice rink or Golden Lane Bowling alley - both offer you the chance of seeing locals spend a day off work having fun with friends. You can of course join in the fun!
- Local funfair - we will go to to a new funfair. Even if you do not decide to go on any rides you are guaranteed to find this an experience and you may find people wanting to take pictures with you as the sight of foreigners is far from common in the DPRK
- Dinner: Local restaurant, Pyongyang

Day 3 - October 11 (Friday)

- Breakfast: Yanggakdo Hotel
- Depart to Kaesong (Panmunjomm, the DMZ)
- 38th Parallel - chance to enter the famous blue negotiation rooms where talks between North & South Korea have taken place. This a DPRK travel highlight.

- Lunch at Tongil Restaurant (Kaesong)
- Koryo Museum (Kaesong)
- Concrete Wall - built by the South and only visible from the North. See one of the world's most important nature reserves as hardly any humans have stepped on the land dividing the Korean peninsula since 1953
- Tomb of King Wanggong
- Hotel check-in: Minsok Hotel (traditional Korean Courtyard Folk Hotel)
- Dinner: Minsok Hotel
Overnight: Minsok Folk Hotel, Kaesong
Day 5 - October 12 (Saturday)
AM
- Breakfast: Minsok Hotel
- Drive through beautiful scenery to Sariwon City
- Songbul Temple on Chongbang Mountain
PM
- Lunch: Sariwon Hotel
- Sariwon Folk Village (you can see the territorial map of Korea's cultural ruins, historical relics, the Provincial History Museum, various pavilions and houses in the time of the Ancient and Middle era of the country)
- Walk around Sariwon, chance to taste local street food and enjoy a drink of Korean Macoli with locals
- Drive back to Pyongyang
- Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (war museum) - see original equipment used in the Korean War and see what the DPRK version of the war is.
- USS Pueblo - US spyship captured in 1968. This is the only US vessel still in possession of another country. The incident, where US personnel were kept in the DPRK, lasted around 11 months
- Grand People's Study House - enormous structure located in the heart of Pyongyang. You can see students studying and the facilities of this insitution. The views of Kim Il Sung square are breathtaking.
- MASS GAMES
- Dinner: Pyongyang Duck BBQ Restaurant

Day 6 - October 13 (Sunday)
AM
- Breakfast
- Drive to Nampo - port city on the west coast of North Korea
- En-route stop at Chongsanri cooperative farm - chance to see how farmers work and live. Visit farmers' children Kindergarten, their homes and see where they work.
PM
- West Sea Barrage - 8 km long barrage that divides the West Sea and the Taedong River. A source of national pride in the DPRK
- Drive to Nampo city centre - drive by the port and various warehouses and factories as well as the central area of Nampo
- Mineral Water Factory - this will be arranged if opened to travellers.
- Local Orphanage - if open a trip here will be arranged. Chance to see where children are taken care of. This place consists of triplets and children under the age of 4 who have no parents or parents who are currently unable to take care of them
- Please note that the orphanage and mineral water factory can be closed. If this is the case alternative travel arrangements will be made.
- Drive back to Pyongyang
- Casual walk by the Taedong River ending at Kim Il Sung Square . Chance to stop by the foreign book store or the Austrian Coffee shop.
