2010 North Korea Business Delegations

Pyongyang International Trade Fair2010 North Korea Business Delegations - In an attempt to increase the number of foreign companies interacting with the DPRK and stimulate a rise in partnerships and investment in North Korea, KTG are now offering tours that will allow companies and individuals meet with potential partners in the DPRK and have a greater understanding of the business opportunities in the country. Please see our 2010 Pyongyang Trade Fair Tour below for more details.

Reasons which have started to attract several foreign companies in the DPRK are the country's virtually untouched market, its skilled workforce and its strategic location in North East Asia.

Opportunities exist for foreign companies supplying and purchasing from DPRK companies in a wide range of fields. A few examples of sectors of major attraction to foreign companies are:

IT & Animation
DPRK companies working under ISO9001 quality control measures provide software to foreign and domestic companies, including Samsung in South Korea, and animation to several Japanese and western companies. There has been a constant increase in the IT sector in the DPRK in the past years, both in the number of companies being set up and the number of employees being recruited. IT remains a popular subject in North Korea, with more people applying to study degrees in this field than positions available.
Textiles & Garment Manufacturing:
Companies cooperate with local DPRK textile firms to produce their goods. Material is normally shipped to the DPRK where the final product is made. This same model is used in a variety of industries and not only confined to textiles.
Fishery
The DPRK has several fish farms as well as seafood processing plants around the country and exports its produce mostly to Asian partners, though there has been an increase in European buyers.
Production & Manufacturing
Sectors of traditional foreign investment interest here have been machinery production, cement, steel and natural resources as well as food processing, aluminium and plastics.
Others
Vehicles, precious stones processing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, Korean alcoholic beverages, hardglasswear, paint production, electric appliances, solar batteries are all goods & services produced in the DPRK .

If you are interested in investing in the DPRK or if you would like to explore what opportunities there may be for your business please do not hesitate to let us know.
